Bring on the sunglasses!  It’s summer and there are some very bright dreams about to come true.  Yes, there’s a caravan in my future, and hooking this Granny Stripe blanket, is how I am spending time until I find it.

This beauty is inspired by a wonderful crocheter living in the Yorkshire Dales of England, in a cute little town that makes me feel all James Herriot! Her name is Lucy and she lives in, and is renovating, a Victorian house with her littles and a big. Her blog, Attic 24, is full of colour and happy, and I confess, I guess I love both of these things, a.l.o.t.  Our studio crochet class turned into an Attic24 love fest, with numerous blankets and other projects appearing at each class.

We discovered just how hard it is to go anywhere without our blankets.  One student travelling to Indonesia to teach over Spring Break, spent her last few hours at home in the wee hours of the morning winding balls in bed to take with her.  We all laughed about this when she got back, and then. . . . it was my turn to travel to Washington DC and . . . well you can guess the rest.

So there is something else that you must know.  This so very cheerful blanket is acrylic! ‘not the kind I remember from childhood.  I can’t believe how soft it is and, did I mention it’s acrylic – yep!  You can find it here.  I’m in love with how practical, AFFORDABLE (it’s a double bed size), and beautiful it will be for camping with a lovely big dog!  Yes, really!  a.c.r.y.l.i.c.   Who’s that laughing?
