working fleecefully. . . . .

Well, it has been a busy and crimpy week!

The fleece sale was a full day of woolly wonders and auction angst, as part of the fall spinning program. We bid on our favourites; we won some; we lost some, but in the end five big poofy bags of fleece came home with me, and during the week, the spinning students came over to divide them up. We had a driveway party, weighing, oohing, aahing, and bagging up our beauties.

I have been busy washing, wool combing, and spinning three bobbins of a lamb’s fleece, seven months of growth, in preparation for a 3 ply yarn. I am smitten with this cardigan.

Baaa! The textured cable work is gorgeous! I can’t wait to get swatching.

Meanwhile this fair isle cardigan is progressing well, despite all the creative distractions!  I rewound the yarn so that I could choose the placement of the colour changes, creating an ombre effect.  I will write all the details up on ravelry soon.

Locker hooking preparation is underway, too, and soon some beautiful cozy rugs will be hooked and ready for winter toe-toes!

Autumn is perfectfully fleeceful around here, don’t you think?
